Born and raised in Costa Rica, Central America. Received both my Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition in 2009 and my Licentiate degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Costa Rica in 2010. Received a Doctorate degree in Food Technology in 2015 from Clemson University and specialize in Nutrition Education. I am also a licensed Zumba instructor since 2013. I currently work for Oregon State University as the statewide EFNEP Program Coordinator and the Clatsop County SNAP-Ed Program Coordinator. I am very proud of my Black and Hispanic heritage and very passionate about helping others. My career goal is to continue to work in the definition of innovative strategies that help low-income/under-served/minority communities make healthier choices and improve their quality of life.
