Since EFNEP's very beginning, the supervisor has been key to the success of the EFNEP peer educator. Auburn University EFNEP has effectively managed EFNEP peer educators using several different models of supervision in its more than 50 year history. From the local home economist to area agents and from area agents to regional specialists and from regional specialists to County Extension Coordinators, the supervisory structure continually remains at the center of EFNEP programmatic success. Auburn University's current supervisory model is a framework that combines the efforts of County Extension Coordinators and the EFNEP State Staff Team to undergird peer educators. County Extension Coordinators provide administrative supervision while the EFNEP State Staff Team provides programmatic supervision. Session participants will be introduced to management tools and tips, including the Monthly Caseload Attainment Chart, EFNEP Short Term Goal Tracker, EFNEP Check-Up, coding travel expense vouchers, and using WebNEERS/technology for document comparison. It is tools such as these that are used to increase program outcomes and transform ordinary workers into ideal educators.
