Emily Foley
North Carolina State University Regional Nutrition Extension Associate
Sanford, NC
I work with two programs- Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and the education component of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program- (SNAP-Ed) at NC State University called Steps to Health.
In EFNEP, I am a programmatic supervisor to 6 Educators in 4 counties in the Central part of North Carolina. In partnership with the County Extension Director in each county office, I hire, train, coach, and evaluate those Educators.
In my Steps to Health role, I work with Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Agents in 10 counties to influence the Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) factors of health within their counties. Those factors are the ones above the individual-- the organization, community, and how that plays into public policy.
